Modeling Rates
I keep seeing the same situation over and over again, and honestly it needs to be said.
I’m always surprised when models with no name, no portfolio, no audience and no sales history quote rates like $800–$1000+ for a basic boy/girl scene.
It feels like a lot of people are confusing escort with adult content production.
These are two completely different industries with completely different economics.
Content production is not “getting paid for sex”.
Content production is media production, where someone invests money into creating content and hopes to make that money back through views, sales, subscriptions and traffic.
Adult content is a business.
And like any business, it has:
• production costs
• testing
• location
• equipment
• editing
• marketing
• platform fees
• risk of bans
• time investment
• and most importantly — ROI
Let’s talk numbers.
Industry averages are roughly:
• New model: $300–600
• Mid-level model: $600–1000
• Known model: $1000–1500
• Top performers: $1500–2000
And those higher rates are paid to models who generate views, traffic and revenue.
Now let’s talk about platform revenue.
On average, ad revenue is roughly $0.6–0.8 per 1000 views.
That means:
• 100,000 views ≈ $60–80
• 500,000 views ≈ $300–400
• 1,000,000 views ≈ $600–800
So if a model with no name asks $1000 for a scene,
the video needs well over a million views just to cover her rate, and that’s before:
• male talent
• testing
• location
• equipment
• editing
• marketing
• producer’s time
That’s not a rate anymore.
That’s an investment risk.
There is a very simple rule in this industry:
You are not paid for having sex on camera.
You are paid for your ability to sell content.
If your name doesn’t generate views, subscribers, or sales, you are not a $1000 model.
You are a new model that someone is investing in.
And investments are priced based on risk, not on ego.
This isn’t disrespect.
This is just economics.
Porn is not paid sex.
Porn is paid distribution.
And your rate is not based on how hot you think you are.
Your rate is based on how many views and sales you generate.
